The Sacred Prostitute

For many years, I identified simply as a sex worker, offering my body as a source of pleasure and connection to those who sought me out. But deep within, I always felt that what I was doing held a greater purpose — something profound, spiritual and transformative. Sex work has long been stigmatised, viewed through lenses of judgment and misunderstanding. Yet, history reminds us that sacred sexuality was once revered. In ancient temples, priestesses used their bodies as vessels of divine energy, facilitating healing, connection and worship.

The Sacred Prostitute: Embracing My True Calling

For many years, I identified simply as a sex worker, offering my body as a source of pleasure and connection to those who sought me out. But deep within, I always felt that what I was doing held a greater purpose — something profound, spiritual and transformative. Over time, I’ve come to realise that my work is more than transactional, it is sacred. I am not just a sex worker, I am a sacred prostitute.

Sex work has long been stigmatised, viewed through lenses of judgment and misunderstanding. Yet, history reminds us that sacred sexuality was once revered. In ancient temples, priestesses used their bodies as vessels of divine energy, facilitating healing, connection and worship. They were called Qadishtu, Hetera, or Naditu — sacred women whose work was a bridge between the earthly and the divine. Their role was far from shameful, it was exalted, vital and deeply spiritual.

Reclaiming Sacred Sexuality in a Modern World

The echoes of these ancient priestesses have always called to me, though I struggled to embrace the depth of what I truly offered. For so long, society’s shame around sex and the body kept me from fully claiming my identity. Christianity and patriarchal systems have ingrained in us the belief that sexuality is sinful, separating us from the natural joy and sacredness of our erotic selves. But I have learned to see through this veil of shame, recognising the divine power that resides in sexual energy.

This journey has led me to a new understanding of my work. When I touch someone, when I guide them into deeper connection with their bodies, I am not merely providing pleasure—I am facilitating healing. I am helping them release shame, trauma and disconnection. I am reminding them that their bodies are divine instruments of joy and creation.

A Modern Sacred Prostitute

Today, I claim this title: sacred prostitute. It is not a label I take lightly. It reflects a profound understanding of my purpose and the energy I bring to every encounter. Like the priestesses of old, I use my body and my presence as tools for healing and transformation. My work is not confined to temples; it happens wherever it is needed— in bedrooms and spaces of all kinds.

This calling is not about performing rituals from the past but about embodying their essence. The sacred prostitute of today wears many faces and fulfills many roles. Some, like me, still work through physical connection, while others channel sexual energy in more symbolic or therapeutic ways. Regardless of the method, the intention is the same: to reconnect individuals with the sacredness of their sexuality and the divine within themselves.

The Healing Power of Sexual Energy

Sexual energy is life force energy—it is the spark of creation, the flow of divine presence that animates us. In my work, I have seen how deeply disconnected people can become from this energy, carrying wounds from trauma, shame, or societal conditioning. My role is to help them reclaim it, to awaken their bodies and spirits to the pleasure and wholeness that is their birthright.
I have been privileged to witness profound transformations in those I guide:

Individuals awakening to pleasure after years of numbness, reclaiming their birthright to feel deeply and fully.

Couples rediscovering intimacy, learning to honor each other’s desires with tenderness, authenticity, and reverence.

Those carrying the weight of trauma releasing pain, finding sanctuary within their bodies and peace within their hearts.

Men moved to tears of joy, experiencing healing, connection, and the profound release of long-held burdens, as they rediscover their capacity for love and pleasure.

This is more than work—it is a sacred calling. It is a journey into the depths of human experience, offering healing, connection, and a return to wholeness.

This is sacred work, and it is needed now more than ever. In a world that commodifies sex while simultaneously shaming it, reconnecting with its sacred roots is an act of revolution and healing.

From Sex Worker to Sacred Woman

Embracing my identity as a sacred prostitute has been a journey of courage and self-discovery. I used to shy away from the term, fearful of the judgments it might bring. But now I see it for what it truly is—a powerful archetype that reflects the sacredness of my work and my connection to the divine. I am a channel for the goddess, a facilitator of healing and transformation.

Kenneth Ray Stubbs describes the sacred prostitute as a sexual shaman, one who works with sexual energy to bring about healing and awakening. This is not casual work; it requires dedication, mindfulness and a willingness to meet others in their most vulnerable and intimate places. For me, this is not just a profession — it is a calling, a spiritual vocation that honors the divinity in every being I touch.
