Why I Choose Sex Work Over Conventional Employment
Dreaming of becoming an actress as a child, my aspirations were stifled by the political situation in Latvia, where I was born. As a Russian in the country that now sees me as an occupant and a threat, I found myself relegated to the status of a second-class citizen, facing barriers that denied me the opportunity to pursue my passion. I won’t go into the details of the sad situation that left many people including my mother lost and destroyed after Perestroika in Latvia, as it is a long story. One day I will write a book about all of it and tell a true story. Not something that they will ever show you on Western mass media.
The discriminatory environment limited my access to educational and career opportunities in the performing arts, leaving me disheartened and thwarted in my pursuit of a dream.
But despite the challenges, I found my way of creative self-expression, navigating through obstacles to carve a unique path for my artistic journey and sex work was a great opportunity to do just that.
In a society that often views sex work through a stigmatised lens, I found empowerment and self-expression in a way that transcends traditional employment. Just as an actor crafts illusions on stage, I create my own narratives, fostering a unique connection with my work and clientele.
The Art of Fantasy
What unites acting and sex work is the fantasy I create, the image, the smell, the atmosphere of escapism. In both professions, there is a profound connection to the art of Fantasy. While actors portray characters scripted by others, I as a sex worker, build my own frameworks, characters, scenarios. This self-created narrative allows for a personalised and empowering experience, where I am in control of the direction.
Embracing Autonomy
One of the most compelling aspects of sex work is the autonomy it provides. As an independent person I really appreciate it. I have the freedom to do what I love, determine my working hours, people who I meet with and set my personal boundaries. This flexibility allows me to shape my work environment according to my preferences. To decide where, when, and how others can interact with me provides a unique level of self-awareness and control. It is a luxury not afforded to many in traditional employment.
Self-Care and Empowerment
In the world of escorting, self-care is not just an option but a necessity. I am wrong here, self-care is a necessity for everyone in the world we are living in.
After particularly demanding periods, I have time, means and the opportunity to indulge in rejuvenating experiences and do pretty much anything I want. These moments of self-indulgence become essential in maintaining a positive mindset and embodying the most radiant version of myself. I wish more people could be in such a privileged position. We would perhaps have a different world then!
Creating an environment where everyone benefits from the experience
Choosing sex work over traditional employment is a deeply personal decision that goes beyond societal norms and expectations. It’s a journey of self-discovery, self-expression and empowerment. By understanding the parallels between acting and sex work, society may begin to appreciate the artistry and individuality that comes with this unconventional profession. The key is to find a passion and fulfilment in the work and I think found it.
For me, it’s about crafting a unique narrative, embracing autonomy and actively creating an environment where everyone benefits from the experience.
The chain is simple: happy me lies in its direct correlation to happy clients and ultimately, the catalytic potential for positive changes in the world—a transformative chain fuelled by personal contentment.
